It’s no secret that collaborations are a key part of the modern marketing mix, and over the years, MAAP has had some of the best. Working with partners from the cycling world and beyond to create standout pieces, including sunglasses, shoes and streetwear, all the way through to boutique luggage.
But this was different… A collaboration with HOKA, one of the leading forces in running and lifestyle footwear and a watershed moment in MAAP’s brand journey.
The Brief
Elevate the collaboration beyond endemic cycling and running channels. Securing impactful exposure in lifestyle and fashion titles and bringing MAAP to new audiences around the globe.
How We Did It
Working collaboratively with HOKA, we identified a list of key targets, balancing global style powerhouses with smaller titles that have strong regional influence. Drawing on the relationships we’ve built in the fashion and lifestyle space over the years of working with MAAP and other clients, we got to work pitching MAAP and HOKA’s creative vision for the collaboration.
Coverage across the board in global lifestyle and culture platforms, from trend authorities Hypebeast and Highsnobiety through to more gear-centric titles such as Gear Patrol and T3.
This was supported by a selection of pieces in smaller, more specialised titles geared towards fashion, luxury and design, as well as pieces in key Asian markets. Standout pieces included eye_C, OPUMO, Office, Acquire, SNKRDUNK and Boss Hunting.
