Empowering riders in a collective “Pursuit Of Progression” in whichever corner of the planet they choose to ride.
For the first road cycling collection of 2023, MAAP are focusing on the pursuit of progression. Going beyond performance goals, the pursuit of progression is also about a wider desire to do better; for ourselves, the people around us and our planet.
With those fundamental goals in mind, the new season of road clothing features more recycled fabric content than ever before, as a small but important step towards sustainability which guides the company every day.
“We believe that progression itself is the ambition, a continual exercise in innovation and betterment,” said Oliver Cousins, co-founder of MAAP. “For example, our transition from virgin to Sustainably Preferred Materials (SPM) is not in itself the end goal, but an important progression towards greater positive impact with the planet we all share.”
As Cousin’s states, The Evade Jersey, one of MAAP’s most popular with riders – available in long and short-sleeve silhouettes – is now made with Sustainably Preferred Materials (SPM) using over 70% Italian-made recycled nylon in the primary body, adding a strong push towards reducing environmental impact. Along with the new materials, both Evade and Evolve jerseys kick off the season in a suite of new colourways. The Evade line will also re-introduce off-bike apparel, including sweats, tees, hoodies, beanies and caps. All-gender kit that has any rider covered whatever their off-bike pursuits.
New for this season, MAAP introduces the Women’s Short Team Bib Evo. Ergonomically designed in a female-specific cut, the updated bib features a new style with a 5cm shorter leg length, silicone-patterned leg band and higher-cut mesh waist alongside the same breathable and moisture-wicking materials riders can expect from Team Bib Evo.
As any committed rider can agree, progression never stops, no matter what the weather throws at them. Evade thermal long-sleeve jerseys, windproof Draft jackets and vests for damp conditions, are all released in a set of new colours to aid riders as they transition into a new season. And as some parts of the southern hemisphere move into the deep winter season, there are new colours of waterproof Prime jackets and vests plus refreshed versions of the brand’s two top-end jackets; Ascend, for heavier rain and wind, and Apex, the warmest riding jacket in the range.
Dropping later in March will be the Sphere collection, MAAP’s own visual and technical progression on the Emblem capsule released in 2022. The Sphere Pro Hex Jersey 2.0 features an exclusive MAAP hex-tech sleeve for aero optimisation alongside breathable micro-perforated fabric on the back and side panels. Featuring an upgraded bonded front hem, larger pockets with anti-sag material and UPF 50+ sun protection factor, the Sphere Pro Hex Jersey is ready to ride.
The New Season Road Collection is available now on MAAP.cc and your local retailer.
