Fara Cycling, the Norwegian adventure bike brand, has today announced its new partnership with the Transcontinental Race and organisers Lost Dot. The new collaboration aims to help inspire more riders to discover ultra cycling.

The Transcontinental Race celebrates its 10th edition this summer, #TCRNo10, and will roll out from the iconic Roubaix Velodrome in northern France on 21st July. From here the riders navigate a self-supported route to Istanbul, Turkey, some 4,000km later via four control points in Slovenia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Turkey.

Fara Cycling already has history with the TCR with several wins by ambassadors including the pairs competition in 2019, then more recently Sherry Cardona and Gereon Tewes finished first pair in the 2023 edition riding Fara F/All-Road bikes, the model Fara founder Jeff Webb, also an avid ultra cyclist, describes as the perfect bike to tackle an ultra event like the TCR.

“We’re on a mission to progress the sport of ultra cycling, not only by creating the best possible bikes for long distance, multi-surface riding but also by inspiring more riders to discover new adventures on two wheels – something that the Transcontinental partnership will help us further,” explained Webb. “We’re excited to partner with TCR. It’s one of the most iconic self-supported races in the world with a rich history; and we look forward to inspiring many more riders to discover their own ‘ultra’ as part of this journey.”

As part of Fara’s partnership with the Transcontinental Race, the bike brand will be launching a series of events to educate and inspire riders to discover their own ultra, whether that’s a one day ride, a multi-day adventure, or a transcontinental epic of their own. Ultra cycling holds no bounds, an adventure to be uniquely designed however each rider may wish. But the first step is the inspiration to ride further than you have ever before.

To do so you also need the best bike suited to the adventure, something Fara’s range is well equipped for. The much favoured F/All-Road is perfectly balanced to tackle everything that a ride like the Transcontinental Race offers – a comfortable frame geometry with generous tyre clearance allowing for up to 38mm tyres that can handle the rugged roads and terrains of far-flung Europe. Fara’s innovative integrated bag system, featuring smart Fidlock attachments for both frame and seatpost bags, also allows you to carry everything you need – once paired with a Fara Bar Bag you’re all set for the adventure.

David Ayre, Race Director for TCRNo10, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Fara on board as a Race partner for TCR. We saw first hand on TCRNo9 how capable their bikes are across the varied terrain that riders have to overcome. Having a Race partner with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, as well as on engaging the wonderful community that makes up the Race, means we’re excited to work together on what is sure to be an exciting edition.”

Fara has also partnered with a number of other ultra endurance events including Mother North and Germany’s popular Grevet Cycling series, as well as directly with DotWatcher, home to ultra cycling coverage and live tracking. Through this network and content, Fara is working to elevate coverage of races such as #TCRNo10 for those following from back home through richer, more in-depth content.

In the spirit of the race and aligning with TCR’s approach to minimising its footprint on the environment, Fara will also be instigating a number of rides from various locations to Roubaix for the start of the race, including cities such as Berlin and Amsterdam. Details on these will follow in due course.
